| | SealPlast™ Protective Coating reduces oil/moisture penetration, and eliminates the "rubbery" standard keypad feel. It has been abrasion resistance tested successfully for up to the equivalent of 1,000,000 cycles (=>20 meters). This spray coating will maintain a uniform thickness on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. SealPlast produces a smooth surface, easy to clean, and is available in matte, semi-gloss, and high gloss finishes. Utilizing a masking technique, SealPlast can also be applied to key top surfaces only. Butyl Rubber is sometimes used for its audio dampening characteristics and lower out-gassing. This special rubber is sulfur free, plasticizer free, carbon free and has a 0.5 damping factor. Stainless Steel Keypad Inserts are generally used to strengthen silicone rubber for some applications such as space bars and mobile phone control switches. High Tear Strength Material is available for applications that require extra long life due to unusual stress. | Note: There are many additional keypad/connector technologies available from Elite.
